Fam to Table isn't in the App Store or Google Play, and that's on purpose. It's a Progressive Web App, which means it installs straight from your browser to your home screen, opens full-screen like any other app, and updates itself without you doing anything. No download, no app store account, no storage eaten up by an installer.

It has to be Safari specifically — Chrome and other browsers on iOS can't add web apps to the home screen.

- Open famtotable.app in Safari.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen — the square with an arrow pointing up.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm the name (it'll default to "Fam to Table") and tap Add in the top corner.
The icon shows up on your home screen like any other app, and opening it launches full-screen with no browser bar.
Android (Chrome)

- Open famtotable.app in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
- Tap Add to Home screen, then Install.
- Chrome may also show an automatic prompt at the bottom of the screen offering to install the app. Either path works.
Why it's set up this way
A Progressive Web App skips the review and approval process a normal app store install goes through, which means updates ship the moment they're pushed instead of waiting on approval. It also means there's no separate app to keep updated manually. Log in once, and it behaves like a normal app from there: your own icon, full-screen, works from the home screen exactly like anything installed from a store.

Does it cost anything to install?
No. Installing the app is free, and Fam to Table's core features — calendar, recipe library, household sharing, grocery lists — are free forever, with no card required to sign up.
Do I need an App Store or Google Play account?
No. The install happens entirely through your phone's browser — Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android.
Will it work without an internet connection?
The app needs a connection to sync your household's plan and grocery list in real time, since that's the point — everyone sees the same live plan. It's not designed as a fully offline app.
Can I use it on both iPhone and Android in the same household?
Yes. Household members can install it on whichever phone they have; the shared calendar and grocery list sync across devices regardless of platform.
